In his own words,
“A fond biker memory was when I was 17 years old. My parents were away on holiday, so I took my Kawasaki trial bike and raced it against motocross bikes at a local (but not so legal) track.
I literally rode it to death, snapping the frame in several places.
So I wouldn’t get in trouble, grandad helped source a replacement frame and we set about swapping over the parts in the kitchen. Every surface was covered in components!
Lo and behold, my parents returned earlier than expected, and mum had one almighty sh*t fit. But after she had calmed down, mum rolled her sleeves, grabbed the workshop manual and said, “Come on, let’s get on with it then.”"
